17 Prophecies concerning the life of the Messiah.
1. Birth in Bethlehem, tribe of Judah. - Micah 5:2
2. He would be preceded by a messenger - Isaiah 40:3
3. He would enter Jerusalem on a colt. Zechariah 9:9
4. He would be betrayed by a friend. - Psalm 41:9
5. His hands and feet would be pierced. - Psalm 22:16
6. He would be wounded by His enemies. - Isaiah 53:5
7. He will be silent before His accusers. Isaiah 53:7
8. He will be spit upon and beaten. - Isaiah 50:6
9. He would be crucified with thieves. Isaiah 53:12
10. His side would be pierced. Zechariah 12:10
11. His betrayal money would be thrown in the Temple & then given to buy a
potter’s field. Zechariah 11:13
12. People would gamble for His garments. Psalm 22:18
13. He would be betrayed for 30 pieces of silver.- Zech. 11:12
14. None of His bones would be broken. Psalm 34:20
15. His body would not decay. Psalm 16:10 - wow!
16. He would be buried with the rich. Isaiah 53:9
17. In the day of the Messiah, darkness would cover the earth in the middle of
the day. Amos 8:9 (Not an eclipse, because Passover was carefully calculated to
occur at the time of the full moon.)
